On March 20, 2025, the clergy, religious sisters, lay faithful, and staff of the Apostolic Vicariate of Soddo came together to console our beloved Bishop, His Excellency Dejene Hidoto Gamo, O.F.M. Cap, following the passing of his dear brother two weeks ago.

The gathering began with the Holy Mass, celebrated by the Bishop himself, offering prayers for the soul of the departed and for strength and comfort to his family. After the Mass, everyone joined in fellowship over a meal at the Bishop’s house, sharing in his grief and showing their unwavering support.

Bishop Dejene expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all who have stood by him and his family during this difficult time. He deeply appreciated the prayers, presence, and kindness shown by the Vicariate community.

Let us continue to keep the soul of his brother in our prayers, trusting in the hope of the resurrection and God's eternal mercy.
